A passionate photographer, Zeeshan Ali (19), was born in a small town of Pakistan called Layyah. Zeeshan first started photography in early 2006 with his elder brother's Canon 20D DSLR when his brother was on holidays in Pakistan. It was then that he discovered his deep interest in photography. Zeeshan got his first camera, a Nikon D50 DSLR in late 2006. Although he bought several photography books, Zeeshan is more of a visual person who does not enjoy reading much. He mainly learnt photography through practicing and by looking at the work of master photographers.

Over the couple of years, Zeeshan has developed his own style in photography, especially in black and white. He has travelled to remote areas of Pakistan to capture the beauty and tragedy of human life. His work mainly captures people in their environments, meant to express their feelings.

Documentary and portrait photography are Zeeshan's favourite. He has also gained good experience in wedding photography. In future, Zeeshan wants to explore his potential in fashion photography as well.

Zeeshan won 2nd place in The Digital Camera Young Photographer of the Year 2007 competition among 80,000 photos submitted from all over the world. His entry Homeless was commended high in black&white category and published in the Digital Camera magazine brochure.
